Attorney for Independent Voter Project
Chad Peace is a constitutional and election law attorney and a partner at Peace & Shea LLP in San Diego. He serves as legal strategist for the Independent Voter Project and has litigated on behalf of independent voters for more than a decade.
He is lead counsel for the plaintiffs, including Paul Rieckhoff, in the federal lawsuit challenging New York’s closed primary. He argued the federal challenge to New Jersey’s closed primary before the Third Circuit, and petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court in that case and in Boydston v. Padilla, the challenge to California’s closed presidential primary.
