Laiza Negrete is the VP of Political Affairs for the California Association of REALTORS®, the most politically influential business trade association in the state representing over 200,000 members. Ms. Negrete joined C.A.R. in 2007 as a political affairs field representative where she worked her way up to her current role. REALTORS are known to take on tough races and this has earned Ms. Negrete recognition in CalNewsroom's list of the "Capitol's 100 Best & Brightest" where she was described as “the director of more money than God and willing to spend it.”
Prior to joining C.A.R. in 2007, Laiza Negrete worked with the Council of State Government’s Western Division where she organized meetings between U.S. and Mexico Legislators. In 2010 Ms. Negrete worked for the Independence Party of New York where she served as an advocate to open up the primary election to nonpartisan voters and also contributed to the “Hankster” a blog about nonpartisan political participation. Ms. Negrete serves on the Board for the Institute of Governmental Studies, UC Berkeley as well as the Independent Voter Project.
