Coalition Launches “Primary Matters” Campaign to Reduce Independent Voter Confusion in California’s Presidential Primary

In 2016, California voters experienced a massive amount of voter confusion due to the state’s confusing semi-closed primary rules.

Despite the Independent Voter Project’s best efforts to get the legislature to enact a reasonable reform that would secure the full right to vote for every voter, regardless of party, the legislature failed to act.

This year, the Independent Voter Project has partnered up with the League of Women Voters and Alliance San Diego to bring San Diego County nonpartisan voters important information about the upcoming March 2020 primary to do our best to limit the confusion and make sure as many voters can participate as possible.
